At Gold Coast School of Guitar, I believe learning guitar should be something you enjoy, not stress over. My goal is to help adults have fun and play songs they can be proud of.
Meet The Founder
Allen Hopgood, the heartbeat behind Gold Coast School of Guitar, brings a wealth of experience as a guitarist and educator.
With 32 years in the industry, Allen has honed the art of nurturing musical talent in adults of all ages.
His passion for music and unwavering dedication to his students form the very core of Gold Coast School of Guitar's GC Guitar Club ethos.
Raised on a rich blend of The Shadows, The Beatles, Kiss, and classic Aussie rock, Allen's guitar journey began in 1983 with a $200 guitar - a 'gift' from his brother, which he paid off at $5 a week.
When he's not with his guitar, you'll find him lost in a book, savouring a good wine, or cheering at an AFL game.
A proud dad of two, he also enjoys gradually expanding his vinyl collection.
